Rotisserie Chicken

Rotisserie Chicken

Not all rotisserie chicken is the same

Our local Ingle’s store has a hot table with rotisserie chicken hot and ready to serve. For folks limiting their salt intake a bit of caution is advised. There are several different flavors such as Barbecue and Italian Herb, but those have over 1000 mg of sodium per three ounces. Their Traditional flavor is just 300 mg.

It is all there, chicken wings, drumsticks, and succulent chicken breasts. With skin and bones removed I got 1.4 pounds of chicken meat. I serve it as is or add it to dishes like Brunswick stew.

The price is right too, $6.98, that is $5 per pound for just the meat, comparable to raw chicken meat at the same store and others.

Mmm, good! And no cooking required.

    1. The price is pretty well in the range that is charged for rotisserie chicken around here ($5 to $8). We have a large poultry industry here in Georgia. As to the conditions, I wouldn’t want to live in those chicken houses.
