Luck o’ the Irish

Four-Leaf Clover

No, I am not Irish except on one day of the year like everyone else, but I am already getting ahead of my story.

It was six years ago, on March 14, 2020, and I was looking for photogenic treasures to photograph. And lo and behold right there next to the walk I spotted a four-leaf clover.

That had to be “the luck o’ the Irish” as it was just three days before St. Patrick’s Day – when everyone is Irish.

Now a four-leaf clover is not an Irish shamrock but it is a symbol of good luck.

So I set to work to get a good portrait of that gem.

And this is my capture:

Four-Leaf Clover

For my fellow photographers: You can see my settings on the camera screen. I was using my Tamron 90 mm macro lens at f/16. The shutter speed was 1/30 second and the camera sensitivity was set to ISO 560. I always record RAW images to allow me to get the best in post-processing.

This also being pollen season here in the South it doesn’t take long to collect our “Southern Irish Green” even on the camera as you can see.

May this photo bring joy to your heart and may this day be full of luck for you.
