Lens Artists Photo Challenge #395 – Looking back to #155 On the Water

This morning my email folder was full of Lens Artists Photo Challenge posts on this “water” challenge. I figured that if everybody is doing it joining in would be the right thing to do.

Being a bit lazy, I opened Photo Gallery without hooking up my archive drive and searched for “water”. Lots of images popped up. Most of them were in a folder that I readied some years back for a presentation on reflections in water but never completed.

Here are a few of those photos.

The water lily photo was unusual in that 28 – yes, twenty-eight – copies showed up – each a bit different. A while back I saw a news item about a sale of a Monet water lilies painting and wanted to do a “call for art” and have my artist friends join in showing our water lily art. That “call” needed a title illustration. This photo got the nod, and I had diligently worked it up as “cafe art”. As I worked on it, I saved intermediate steps and neglected to delete them as I usually do. Maybe some day they can illustrate my typical labors in making art. Here is the final result of that effort. (My artist friends ignored my call for art.)

And here are two posts of my posts about water lilies. “Water Lilies” and “My Water Lilies“. Yes, that second one uses another version of my cafe art image.

Back to the challenge. This week Wandering Dawgs says:

This week we are looking back to John’s challenge #155: On the Water from July 3, 2021. In his challenge he said “the theme On the Water encompasses whatever manner of water floats your boat (or doesn’t)”. You can see John’s original post here.

For this challenge, I look forward to seeing your interpretation of “On the Water”.

Oh, it has been raining outside as I prepare this post – the water theme is certainly appropriate.

Now it makes me thirsty – time for tall glass of water with lunch!

P.S. – Facebook reminded me of a post from two years ago. It fits the theme. “Family Outing 2017“.
