This was December 2025
This is my first post for The Changing Seasons challenge. Since I might meet a few new blogging friends with this challenge, allow me to tell a little bit about myself.
It has been more than seventy-five years since I got interested in photography. As you can imagine I have seen a lot of changes in the field and contributed to a number of them myself. Much of my career was in the photography industry and I helped usher in electronics into cameras and other gear. Just to mention a few, I was on the teams that brought automatic flash, auto-focus in cameras, and the most recent revival of 3D photography. I also served for many years as a representative, officially an “expert”, on ISO committees.
After retiring I took up teaching photography and computer use to older folks. Some of us instructors started to meet at a cafe after classes to talk about photography and more. This site, Cafe Ludwig, derives its name from those get-togethers.
Some of use still have coffee together occasionally. One such meeting was this past month. Here is a photo with me, on the left, taken by one of those old friends.

Health problems, unfortunately, prevent me from getting many opportunities to go out to take pictures. Much of my photos are taken with my iPhone, many looking out windows of my house or taken going to and from doctors’ appointments. Windows are often my subjects to provide material for my Monday Window challenge.
Here are some images from this past month. Some are nothing to brag about, like the photo of the tree seeming to bend out of the way of a shadow.

Much of my activity these days is preparing food, and I like to document my creations.

Another long time interest has been art – drawings, paintings, and more recently digital art. I call my digital manipulations “cafe art” (yes, that also started at my favorite cafe).
Here are two such creations from the past month. You will recognize the church image variations as derived from the photo at the top of this post.

So there you have views of my past month and some stories going back as much as three quarters of a century.
It was bushboys world that got me started with this challenge. And I thank Brian and Ju-Lyn at for conducting this pleasant challenge.
Here is a bit more information – as it appears
About The Changing Seasons
The Changing Seasons is a monthly project where bloggers around the world share their thoughts and feelings about the month. We each approach this differently, though generally with an emphasis on the photos we’ve taken during the month.
For many of us, looking back over these photos provides the structure and narrative of our post, so each month is different. Some focus on documenting the changes in a particular project — such as a garden, an art or craft project, or a photographic diary of a familiar landscape. In the end, it is your changing season, and so approach it however it works for you.
There are no fixed rules around post length or photo number — just a request that you respect your readers’ time and engagement.
