Monday Window – 260420

Windows, windows and hardly anything else

From a drive last week that took us through Buckhead, and area in Atlanta, Georgia.

Lots and lots of windows, and indeed the buildings are clad in windows. That is typical in the Buckhead area as the reflections show. I have used many photos in Monday Window from around that part of Atlanta in the past, indeed the Monday Window logo and masthead is derived from photos from there.

“What about those concrete structures?” you might ask. Note the colorful sign on the left. It marks an entrance to the Marta rail station that is located underneath. Nor only the rail line but a freeway runs under this building. I will have to get some photos from down there for a future post.

The image above is a heavily processed photo from that “drive-by photography” excursion. Here is the original:

And here is the initial perspective correction.

Windows in Art

This week I have selected a work of Indian art from the Cleveland Museum of Art that shows a lot of windows to complement my photo above.

The “official” Monday Window post by PR for today also shows lots and lots of windows. Not planned, just a very fortunate coincidence.

See what other Monday Window fans have today. Find their windows in the comments of the official Monday Window post for today.

  1. Oh yes, that’s a lot of windows! I have to now look up Buckhead on the net. The Indian painting – that style evolved during the Mughal period. I saw some really intricate work one time when I was at an Indian fort/palace in India. I used my phone camera to zoom into some parts and they were not impressionistic blobs but had really detailed brushwork! I wonder how long the painters kept their eyesight, after putting so much strain on the eyes!

    1. Thank you P R,
Buckhead is northern part of Atlanta. It is a business area with a lot of tall, glass-covered buildings.
Painters a devoted artist – in some traditions delicate, intricate work really shines.
