Hurricane Isaias Aftermath
Mostly rain for us, we were lucky. Hurricane Isaias made landfall on the panhandle of Florida, the strip of coastal area that extends westwards south of Georgia and Alabama. The central part then went up the center of Alabama.
Since hurricanes spin counterclockwise (in the northern hemisphere), the tail end of the hurricane is over the warm waters, that feed it, longer and picks up huge amounts of water. That water then comes down with strong winds and downpours on the right side of the storm. That part covered all of Georgia where it did much damage and where there are still many areas without power.
Being on the northern end, our location received only an inch and a half (about 4 cm), in rain and that came with much milder wind and more spread out. It did rain off and on in squalls most of the day on Saturday. During a lull we even went out for lunch – here are drops of rain on the windshield of our car.

Now, if I just could get this picture correctly …

No, it is not as bad as my photo makes it look. Our bushes have grown much this year and at this angle look like they have fallen over the driveway. This photo was also taken through the car window, so it qualifies as a Monday Window photo.

I did have another post planned for today, but could not resist sharing a couple of my iPhone photos.

Windows in Art
Vincent Van Gogh got a sunnier day. This is just a part of his painting. The title of the painting refers to the gorgeous yellow field of wheat pretty much all of which I cut off with my crop.
