Monday Window – 260223

Ivy-Covered Building - 130 Habersham Street

More windows as seen long ago

Challenges sometimes get rather interesting. As you might know, I have not been able to get out on photo shoots lately and consequently have been digging into my archive for photos of windows. I also occasionally participate in a challenge “The Numbers Game” which looks into the archive for a specific number. Often what comes up also has pictures of windows.

Last week I posted one of those old photo here and got an interesting question about it. (See the post and the comments for Monday Window – 260216 – Cafe Ludwig). That got me sleuthing around and I posted about it in Helpful Google – Cafe Ludwig.

Looking at my photos in that last Numbers Game post (The Numbers Game – 260217 – Cafe Ludwig) also showed an ivy-covered building.

I could not find a Monday Window post using that image. It is a panoramic stich of three separate exposures. Here are its parts:

Not all those window photos have been used in Monday Window, but I did post a crop of the top part back in 2021.

Now you have seen the rest of that building and its interesting windows. But since I had been researching that old photo walk from back in 2011, I looked some more in Google. Lo and behold, the ivy has been removed from that building (Google photo from November 2025). You can see that the tree in front has grown up a bit.

The building next to it was also the subject in another photo of mine. We’ll take a look at it next week. Enough of this explore for now.

But there is more to this story. I also have a photo of a strikingly similar building at 530 Broughton Steet, except it looks more like a mirror image. This photo was included in my post Thursday Doors – 31 | Two Cameras – Two Views in September 2016.

Since this post is already lengthy, I will skip the “Windows in Art” series this week.
